Quotation During An Appointment For Piano Tuning
When an appointment has been made to have a piano tuned, but on arrival it is clear that the piano is not in a playable condition and needs to be repaired, a quotation for the repairs will be supplied. When problems such as the following occur, the piano needs to be regulated or repaired in order to make it playable: sticking keys, non-repetitive play, a clicking sound while playing, sustained notes, to name but a few. In cases where it is uneconomical to repair the piano, or the cost of the repairs will exceed the value of the piano, the client will be informed accordingly in order to prevent unnecessary expenses.

Piano Quotations For Insurance Purposes
In the event of damages to pianos, insurance companies require that a quotation for the repairs be submitted together with the claim. The quotation must be issued by a piano tuner who is a member of the
South African Association of Professional Piano Tuners. In such a case you are welcome to make an appointment during which it will be determined whether the piano can be repaired economically and which repairs need to be done. We will then provide you with a written quotation to be submitted to the insurance company. It is important to note that insurance companies may refuse to cover damages to pianos in cases where they are not in possession of a valuation certificate issued by a piano tuner who is a member of the
South African Association of Professional Piano Tuners.

Validity Of A Piano Quotation
A quotation for piano repairs or piano restoration is only valid for a period of 30 days from date of issue due to the fact that materials and parts are imported and the prices are determined by the current exchange rate. All other quotations for piano moving or piano transportation are also only valid for 30 days after date of issue.

No Telephonic Quotations For Piano Repairs
No quotations for piano repairs will be given over the telephone as the piano needs to be inspected in order to make a reliable valuation of the costs involved. Quotations for piano tuning will be given over the telephone provided that no repairs need to be done to the piano.

Cost Of A Piano Quotation
A standard call-out fee will be charged for quotations in order to cover expenses. If the quotation is accepted during the visit, no call-out fee will be charged. If the quotation is not accepted, the standard call-out fee will be payable immediately.
